I'm thinking about creating php script wich would install/setup other php applications. Just idea. Not sure when I have time to implement it.

Webmaster/seller would do:
- create folder NNN, copy Script Installer into that folder
- create subfolder in the folder NNN, and copy your custom application there
- update installation file. File would contain simple set of commands to install script, like move folder x to y, set permissions x on file y, create database, etc.
- You pack whole folder.

Customer would:
- unzip installation package
- open setup.php in their browser
- follow installation instructions

What features you would expect from installer?
I can think of:
- create folders / create files / copy files
- set permissions on files / folders
- creating database on cPanel or directly via MySql
- creating database users
- loading some sql file in order to create database tables / populate with initial data
- execute some custom php scripts

Anything else?

This is a great idea. If this could be like our own version of fantastico it would be awesome! Would it allow us to have scripts automatically installed without requiring the user to create a database and assign a user in cpanel?
Thanks,
chris
