We gather all our spam mail in a mail account on our cPanel-administered website. (see http://www.clissmann.com/computer/SpamAssasin_cPanel.htm for how we do this.)

We would like to delete the spam after a period of time (say 2 or 3 days) from a server-side script rather than a mail client. We can set the Ageing property on the account, so that a closing POP3 session would leave it sit there for a given number of days. Otherwise, the script would have to check the date of the mail, which can sometimes be set forward, etc.

Ideally, the script would automatically run periodically, open the POP3 account, delete all mails that match a patter in the subject line (e.g. starting with ">>>SPAM" or similar"), close the POP3 session so that the deletes take place (for those that match the Ageing criteria) and then end.

I have searched high and low for such a script to no avail - but there are plenty others out there, also looking for such a script.

This seems interesting. Not so much pop3 experience, but will try to create such script. Will post news here when something is available.
