Hi

I have a web page which is updated every 60 seconds via ftp which i wish to password protect. I have inserted the code into the top of the page but the password is not displayed and the page is no longer being updated. Can you help? I have included the first few lines of code. The website address is www.fixit-4u.org/monitor.php ***I have changed it back to .html until things are sorted.

<?php include("\\nas33ent\domains\f\fixit-4u.org\user\htdocs\protector\password_protect.php"); ?>

The problem was in protection string.

Changed
<?php include("\\nas33ent\domains\f\fixit-4u.org\user\htdocs\protector\password_protect.php"); ?>
to
<?php include('\\\\nas33ent\domains\f\fixit-4u.org\user\htdocs\protector\password_protect.php'); ?>

and it worked.

Hi

The password is now working but the ftp transfer has stopped working. Does the password protect stop inbound ftp transfers?

It have no influence on ftp passwords.

But I suspect your issue has something to do with file permissions.

You could try following:
1. temporarily move protected file to another location.
2. ftp new file
3. compare permissions of the file on step 1 and 2 (ls -l filename1.php filename2.php).
4. put file from step 1 back, and change its permissions to match permissions of the file from step 2
