Step 7:Read the password for the Excel program that is now listed next to the "Show password" check box. Close the window by clicking the red button at the upper left corner. Quit the Keychain Access program

Thanks for the great solution, a long day i am finding the solution to recover excel password. Can you please tell about this software, is this work on word password recovery? I also forget password of word document so i want a multipurpose software which i use in office password recovery. like ms word, ms access , ms excel password recovery.

Can't say that any of the programs mentioned above can be very efficient since password recovery will take years if  the password is long and complex. So it is all lies that recovery rate is 100%. When I lost my password, I googled and found a service called www.password-find.com which can instanly remove passwords from Word and Excel documents, and supports files created both in Windows and Mac editions of MS Office. Of course I was impressed when it removed password from my docx file in several seconds. However, it does not work for all files, so you might want to check it before purchasing a license to use the service.

Dear Hoillywu,
     I am trying remove/recover the password of an Excel 2010 worksheet with your 7 step solution "How to Recover Excel password on a Mac?". When I get to Step 4, I do not see Excel in the list. Pl. help. I have been waiting for over a year to open this file. Thanks.

If you lost the password of MS excel then it became compulsory to recover it because without password you can't access the files of the excel on Mac or Windows. We all know that data are very important and these days we store our data in the system in different format and we have not its hard copy so we have no any option without password recovery.
