How to approve a customer before allowing access to protected page

Just found this awesome script, thanks!

I would like to approve a customer before allowing them access to the protected page.

Right now a customer can login as soon as they signup. What would be the easiest way for a customer to setup their own login and password, then I could login to the manager and grant that customer permission somehow. Perhaps "activate" or "enable" their account somehow?

The easiest way would be to not set the redirect page to their member page. Set the default to a 'Approving' page and then set the actual redirect once you,ve checked them out.
