I've downloaded password protect. Opened it in Notepad and changed password/user name. This was done by highlighting and overwriting so as not to change any surrounding code. Save the file as "password_protect.php" ansent it by FTP to my website.(an ntlworld homepage)
When I open it the browser all I get is the same page of text I had in notepad?
I noticed the following , which may be an error. I believe &lt; should be < and &gt; should be >.

at the very beginning (first line):<br>&lt;?php include("' . __FILE__ . '"); ?&gt;');
}

I am using IE6 and Firefox 2.0 and XP Home SP2

Could you give me a link to the password_protect.php, on this board, or via private message (icon at the left of this post, under zubrag)

It looks like php support is not enabled on homepage subdomain. You have to ask admins to enable php support. Script cannot work without php.
