Beginner Help Please

I have downloaded the file download.php
All my zip files are in one directory on my site.
I want to place download links on my site but hide my file locations.

I think this script will do that, but I don't know what to do next?

OK.... I figured it out and have it working... but only if I remove my ALLOWED_REFERRER.

I had set it to my site address llike the "example.com"  but it doesn't work.

What should this be?
