I've got some form scripts on my site that were recently exploited to send out several thousand spams. Do you think PageProtect would serve a similar purpose to captcha if I used it in my processing files?

I'm no geek as you can tell.

Your script is fantastic on a phpbb forum by the way.

Registering for this forum took about 10 minutes because the security codes are near unreadable and the request a new image feature does not work ... at least in Firefox it doesn't work.

Thank you for letting us know about sign up capture problem! Removed captcha and protected signup with password protector.

Password protector will not work as good as captcha script from anti-spam point of view. Password protector will protect from auto-spam scripts, but experienced spammers will still go through (only if they know password). The problem is spammers can manually login, and than use auto-spam script for spamming. CAPTCHA script will protect even from such scenario.

You could try both to determine which one works best for you. Maybe those who try to spam you are not so experienced.
