This looks like something that will work for me, but all of the discussion seems to be about protecting an individual page, and repeating the exercise with other pages.
What if I just want to password protect my entire web site (i.e. a directory containing all the pages of the site)?
Is it simply a matter of password protecting my home page, or is there more to it that that?
My apologies if this sounds naive, but I just discovered this script recently, and want to act quickly on the implementation that I have in mind.

Every page should have protection code included. But as most sites include some file into every page (some setting, header, or somilar), you'd have to add protection code only to that file and it spreads to all pages.
