I want to run my own hosting. If I buy cpanel from reseller, and have somebody install it on my home computer, would that be enough?
Would I need something else?

You'll need following to run cPanel on home computer (not recommended):
- DSL or Cable modem
- check if your ISP (internet provider) allows running such server (some do not allow)
- buy static IP from your ISP
- have supported OS installed on your machine (like Linux, FreeBSD)
- buy cPanel license
- install cPanel (cPanel and WHM will install Apache, MySQL, exim, PHP, etc. You do not need to install any of these services beforehand)

You'll need following to run cPanel on dedicated server with static IP (recommended):
- have supported OS installed on your machine (like Linux, FreeBSD)
- buy cPanel license
- install cPanel (cPanel and WHM will install Apache, MySQL, exim, PHP, etc. You do not need to install any of these services beforehand)

Mostly people do not have tech skills to perform all those installations.
I would advise to buy cPanel license, and contact cpanel.net support. They would advise what is needed and install cPanel properly (free of charge).

You will also need some web host billing application to automate payments.
